New routes from Germany to Madeira

GERMANIA started three new routes from Germany to Madeira November 3rd: Friedrichshafen, Dresden and Munster, will be added to Hamburg, Bremen and Erfurt, routes operated since last winter by the airline.

The airline will offer one weekly frequency on the three routes, using an Airbus A319 with capacity for 150 passengers and a B737 with capacity for 148 passengers, which will contribute to a total of 16 thousand seats for this winter season (2015-2016).

Karsten Balke, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Germania: “We are happy to add three interesting German cities to Germania’s portfolio of flights departing from Funchal. While we are thrilled to offer Madeira’s holiday goers new opportunities to explore Germany we are also looking forward to bring many travelers to Madeira and its beautiful capital Funchal.”

Although these connections will be operated via Lanzarote, we estimate that 50% of passengers will stay in Madeira.

As usual, Madeira Airports prepared a reception for the arriving passengers, offering Madeira wine and flowers.
