Ryanair opens new base in Lisbon

Yesterday, April 1st, Ryanair opened its new base at Lisbon Airport with one aircraft and 7 new routes, on top of the existing 4.

These 11 routes will generate 124 weekly flights and, according to the airline, generate 900 000 passengers per year and 900 hundred on-site jobs at the airport.

Ryanair celebrated the opening of its new base in Lisbon – the company’s 64th – by offering 100 000 seats from 19,99€, for travel in May and June, available for booking until midnight tomorrow (April 3rd).

During yesterday’s opening ceremony, Kenny Jacobs, Chief Marketing Officer, besides being glad to be in Lisbon, said: “Our 7 new Lisbon routes will allow even more customers to escape TAP’s high fares and instead enjoy Ryanair’s lowest fares and industry leading customer service. This is the first summer where Ryanair customers can enjoy a free small second carry-on bag, “quiet flights”, allocated seats and use their personal electronic devices at all stages of their flight, making Ryanair the ideal choice for families and friends looking to get away this summer, with a new website, smartphone app, and family and business products coming soon.

To celebrate the opening of our new Lisbon base, we are releasing 100,000 seats on sale from €19.99 for travel in May and June, which are available for booking until midnight Thursday (3 Apr). Since these amazing prices will be snapped up quickly, customers should log onto www.ryanair.com and avoid missing out.”

The seven new routes from Lisbon are: Dole, Dublin, Faro, Manchester, Marseille, Pisa and Porto. The company already flies to Brussels, Frankfurt, London and Paris.
