Christmas celebrated with sparkling wine, nativity scenes and music

December means Christmas. From the nativity crib to traditional sparkling wine and holiday songs, nothing has been left out as we celebrate Christmas with our passengers at Porto airport.

Between December 17th and 23rd the Bairrada wine region will showcase its best bubblies. Several experts will be on hand to explain the different wines and grape varieties during the tasting.

On December 21st Portugal Enlatado will be at the airport in the restricted departures area with Isabel Ribeiro, a master craftswoman, showing passengers how to make nativity cribs.

December 13th passengers arriving at the airport will be greeted by the Escola Pêro Vaz de Caminha Orchestra. On the 22nd at 4pm in the public departures area all passengers are invited to a Christmas concert by the Portuguese symphonic band (55 musicians) and Costa Cabral music academy’s youth choir (over 100 children), who will be singing international seasonal hits.
